"Falling Man" by AfuChan "Falling Man" by AfuChan
So, here is a sketch I did over the summer. This was also turned in as my final project for my Drawing/Composition class. Did it out from boredom when I had nothing to do in class. No ref.

Charcoal on newsprint.

Is this how you start out every drawing, or are they less detailed than this?

Less detailed. I wouldn't go shading and all, especially when I'm doing flats. This piece is more like a finished sketch, it's not really an actual sketch.

Great composition! Removing even the pen would throw the balance out the window ...like that guy... looks like he was thrown out the window...

What with the expression and the pose, this really scares me. I actually sort of feel like he's really going to fall off the screen.

Ahaha... D:

its great! the posture, the expression, hands, wrinkles, everything looks convincing in a comical undertone. kinda wish you could render this out, i'd be interested to see it; but then that'd be more work. :p it also reminds me of norman rockwell's stuff mixed in with '80s photography.

nah, i don't want to finish it. i'm just going to leave it as a sketch. and yeah, rendering will mean more work.

The hands and face turned out amazingly for no reference. Is this a commentary on the life as a company man? Or i guess it could be Clark Kent in disguise.

No Clark Kent or company man, he could be if you want him to be, but the whole piece wasn't intentional and I didn't have a story in mind when I was working on this.

intentionally i had him floating because i drew him upright first. when i was done, i thought it would make sense if i turn him upside down.
